News letter 6/3/22

A couple of weeks have gone past since the last newsletter. I did promise chapter two of the Moon Palace so here it is.

The delay was because I became aware that the phrase “the Status quo” wasn’t conveying what I was trying to say well. The concept came from when I was writing about Ego development and the forces that shape the Ego. However, now I realize that the phrase doesn’t do the job. I was waiting to get some clarity around that so I stopped writing.

I’m not sure I have found the right word or words yet. Society seems to fit the bill most times, as does ideologies, I was trying to convey how powerful these forces are in the formation of our Ego’s and the belief systems we hold. We go to war over these belief systems, anyway, we shall see.

Here is a poem by David Whyte about what we plan and what actually happens. Seems to fit here.

What you can plan is too small for you.

What you can plan

is too small

for you to live.

What you can live

wholeheartedly

will make plans

enough

for the vitality

hidden in your sleep.

To be human

is to become visible

while carrying

what is hidden

as a gift to others.

To remember

the other world

in this world

is to live in your

true inheritance.

David Whyte
